This is my new local and both times I have visited I have been impressed! Today Gene was handling coffees, food and FOH all by herself. She is a magician, everything was delicious and the service was very quick and friendly. Looking forward to the next time!

Beautiful old school cafe nestled in Ashbury. Feels like you are in one of those corner deli stores with all locally and homemade food, pastries etc etc. Great place to just sit back and have "homemade" food and chill. What I really love about this place is its service and quality of food. Very friendly staff and always happy to have a chat with you and a laugh. If you are just after a simple B&E on rye bread or something more, it has it. Need to mention that it serves all day breaky, which is a 10/10. Now let's talk about the coffee. It's a 10/10. There's nothing more to say. It's just that good. I love my Soy latte, and this place uses a very flavoursome bean, which makes my coffee absolutely delicious. Definitely add this place to your list to visit.

We love our local coffee shop, amazing coffee and food, the staff are always welcoming and know peoples names. My favourites are the all day breakfast menu! Well priced and not a pretentious place. Thank you Jean and Team.

There’s a lot of rustic, homegrown charm to this place; a war era California Bungalow roughly converted into corner store cafe. The food is nice. I loved the sausage roll - homemade, as opposed to the cheap, frozen guff people sell elsewhere. The service is not particularly friendly nor community-minded, though, which is strange given that this place is almost 100% reliant on local patronage. The most I got out of the barista is that the cafe is roughly 8 years-old. Beyond that, there was no friendly banter with the regulars, and all the clear signs I gave that I wanted to have a conversation to get to know the owner were ignored. Sad.

I had an amazing experience at First Street Pantry. The food was absolutely delicious, with the breakfast brioche being the standout—it’s hands down the best breakfast burger I’ve ever eaten, and I highly recommend it to anyone. The location is perfect—quaint and charming, with a cozy, home-like atmosphere that reminds me of a grandmother’s kitchen. The service was also fantastic—friendly and attentive . The coffee was perfect, rich, and smooth, and the milkshake was creamy and indulgent. , It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing meal And within walking distance from my home, I’ll definitely be coming back!.

A hidden gem! Generous portions at reasonable prices. The cafe has a cozy, grandma-style vibe—tucked away in a quiet corner, clearly a favorite among locals. The food feels genuinely homemade and healthy, none of those overly commercialised American sauces. Their French toast is impressive it comes with generous Mascarpone instead of the usual cheaper ice cream. Coffee and juice are also great.

Friendly local cafe with a good menu selection at reasonable prices. The coffee is quite nice. It’s a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, best for small groups or takeaway.
